Gizmo
Gismeaux "Gizmo" Jolivet

April 30, 2005 - May 1, 2008
3 years and 1 day old

Gismeaux "Gizmo" Jolivet of Lake Forest Park passed away peacefully on May 1, 2008 after losing his lifelong battle with inflammatory bowel disease. Gismeaux was born on April 30, 2005 in an infamous Minnesota puppy mill and not long after was shipped to a Seattle area pet store. Due to complications from his disease he was surrendered twice by loving homes unable to meet his medical needs. On January 7, 2007 he was taken to a Boston Terrier Rescue of Western Washington foster home - our home. The bittersweet truth was that the severity of his disease and his fragile health prevented him from leaving the care of our foster home.

With the help of the best veterinary care in Seattle, lots of love, patience, time, and his strong will to survive we were able to fight back a near death in May of 2007. For almost a year, Gizmo enjoyed life to the fullest. His favorite activities included playing with his "Girl Pack" and kitties, car rides, chewing on bones and sticks, eating salal berries in the summer and snow in the winter, winning the title "Prince" at the Boston Tea Pawty in Tacoma last fall, and snuggling with Hedgie and Dad (although he loved to snuggle everyone!).

Gismeaux is survived by his loving parents, Michel and Sara; and his adoring siblings, Esmee, Miette, Molly (Zena), Thelma Jane, Marcel and Cecile. Remembrances can be made to the Boston Terrier Rescue of Western Washington, StopPuppyMills.org, and by following this link to a petition to stop puppy mills where he was born: http://www.petitiononline.com/mn56345/

All who knew him will remember him as the perfect gentleman. He will be loved always and deeply missed. Our lives are forever changed.

"It wasn't always easy, it wasn't always fun,
but it was always worth it."
