Boston Terrier Rescue of Western Washington (BTRWW) provides grants to 501c3 rescues and organizations that take in and care for Boston Terriers with special needs beyond routine care.

By donating to BTRWW, you will be providing essential medical care for these special needs Boston Terriers in order for them to find their forever homes while giving these 501c3 organizations a helping hand.




Ruby - December 2023 - 2 year old female from MidAmerica Boston Terrier Rescue

Ruby was a breeder release to MidAmerica BTR. When she came in, she had cherry eyes. Later they found out that she was pregnant. She had five puppies, raised them and was spayed. Her cherry eyes were also corrected during her surgery.

Ruby was a great mom and recovered nicely from her surgeries. She is now looking for her forever home.




Stanley - December 2023 - 3 year old male from MidAmerica Boston Terrier Rescue

Stanley was released to MidAmerica BTR by a breeder. He arrived in their care with multiple cysts on his body. They were removed. There was no cancer, however they did have the potential to grow back.

Stanley had a smooth recovery and is living in his forever home in MO.




Olive - December 2023 - 4.5 year old female from MidAmerica Boston Terrier Rescue

Olive arrived at MidAmerica BTR from a breeder. She was always low key but when she stopped eating and had no energy, they took her to the vet. She had e-rays done which led to Gastrotomy/enterotomy. A large amount of dark fiber was in her stomach and a linear foreign body of the same material was removed from her small intestine.

Olive was a different dog after surgery. Full of spunk! She is living with her new family in CO.




Maley - December 2023 - 4 year old female from MidAmerica Boston Terrier Rescue

Four and a half year old Maley was a breeder release to MidAmerica BTR. She had a mass cell tumor in her vulva which was removed. She recovered nicely with no impact on her ability to pee.

Sweet Maley found her forever home NE.




Tula Rose - December 2023 - 3 year old female from MidAmerica Boston Terrier Rescue

STula Rose arrived at MidAmerica BTR as a breeder release. She was favoring one of her rear legs. Shad Luxating Patella surgery to correct the problem. Within days she was putting weight on her leg. She recovered quickly.

Tula Rose is living an active life with her new family in CO.




Canelo Alverez (Rudy) - November 2023 - 1 year old male from Boston Terrier Rescue of East Tennessee - Kentucky

Rudy was turned over to BTR of East Tennessee- KY Division. It was noticed immediately that something was wrong with his eyes. He was diagnosed with juvenile cataracts. Cataract removal surgery is not something we recommend for senior Boston Terriers because of post-surgery complications. However, with Rudy being so young and healthy it was worth a try. Rudy had to travel from Kentucky to Cleveland Ohio for this special surgery.

Rudy had two successful surgeries and has been adopted.




Foxy - November 2023 - 6.5 year old female from MidAmerica Boston Terrier Rescue

Six and a half year old Foxy was released from a breeder. She had to be spayed, have a dental cleaning, an inguinal hernia repaired, her elongated palate corrected and her nares opened. That was a lot for one surgery, but Foxy came out with flying colors.

Shy Foxy has come a long way and is awaiting adoption.




Penny - November 2023 - 4.5 year old female from MidAmerica Boston Terrier Rescue

Four and a half year old Penny was released from a puppy mill. She had all her routine medical needs taken care of. Including the repair of bilateral inguinal hernias.

Penny had a successful surgery and found her forever home in Kansas.




Baby - November 2023 - 11 year old female from MidAmerica Boston Terrier Rescue

Baby’s owner became homeless resulting in her being turned over to MidAmerica BTR. Unfortunately, she had not been to the vet in a long time. She had 28 teeth extracted during her dental.

Baby is doing great and was adopted by a family in CO.




Diego - November 2023 - 6 year old male from MidAmerica Boston Terrier Rescue

Six-year-old Diego was a breeder release. While awaiting transport to MidAmerica BTR he was housed outdoors and was attacked by some neighborhood dogs. He was taken immediately to the vet to have his wounds cleaned and stitched up.

Diego is recovering and once healed he will be neutered and have a dental cleaning. He will them be ready for adoption.




Millie - October 2023 - 11 year old female from Wisconsin Boston Terrier Rescue

Millie, an 11 year old, joined Wisconsin BTR in early 2023. She had extensive skin issues and ear infections. She was miserable. She has had a long course of testing and treatments for allergies and yeast related dermatitis (chronic Malassezia), external ear infections and multiple food allergies. She has required a long course of antifungals, antibiotics, antihistamines, immune modulators and medicated baths and topical treatments, with slow improvement over the past 6 months. Millie has definite improvement in quality of life, more energy and no constant itching, no raw skin less discomfort.

In July Millie developed a complicated ulcer and melting cornea. Her right eye was removed. She recovered from her eye surgery. She has adapted well to the monovision and is back loving her walks, riding in the car every chance she gets, and snuggling with her foster family. Millie’s care will be ongoing for the rest of her life.




Jaxson - October 2023 - 1 year old male from Boston Terrier Rescue of East Tennessee

Jacksonville, FL Animal Control was dispatched to pick up a dead dog. Only he was not dead! The officer rushed him back to the shelter where he was stabilized. BTR of East Tennessee was called in to help this pup. He had significant trauma to his face, eye, and jaw. It was not known if he had been hit by a car, attacked by dogs or if it was abuse. That didn’t matter to BTRETN. Since that moment Jaxson has had many surgeries to clean out and remove dead tissue and bone. He has had several abscesses the needed to be cleared. He has made a lot of progress but is not out of the woods yet. You can follow his story at BTR of East Tennessee-Fl Facebook page.

Jackson has several surgeries ahead to fix his jaw so that he can chew and eat with some normalcy. He is such a good boy!




Clarice - October 2023 - 4 year old female from MidAmerica Boston Terrier Rescue

Clarice was picked up as a Stray in Kansas City, MO. She was turned over to MidAmerica because she had a large tumor hanging from her groin and a cherry eye. She also has allergies that are helped with a special diet and a Cytopoint injection once a month. Clarice has had her eye corrected, and her tumor removed. She recovered quickly and will be up for adoption soon.




Tony - October 2023 - 4 year old male from MidAmerica Boston Terrier Rescue

Tony was a stray that ended up in a shelter. MidAmerica BTR was asked to take him in to see if they could help his breathing. This 4-year-old has had his elongated palate corrected and is now breathing much easier.

Tony was adopted to a loving family in CO where he loves going for walks and chasing squirrels.




Rose - October 2023 - 2 year old female from MidAmerica Boston Terrier Rescue

Two year old Rose was picked up as a stray and taken to the shelter. MidAmerica BTR was asked to take her in to correct her cherry eye and spay her. Rose’s surgeries were completed, and she is now up for adoption.




Popeye - October 2023 - 5 year old male from Midwest Boston Terrier Rescue

Five year old Popeye came to Midwest BTR with a severe eye injury. He was taken to the ER immediately and had the eye removed. He is no longer in pain and is healing well. He will be ready for adoption by the holidays.



Boston Terrier Rescue of Western Washington solely assists other 501C3 rescues and organizations that take in a dog needing medical care. The events that we hold in our fundraising group help these Bostons in need.
